Settling In and- Roderick!
Aja was beginning to figure out the game called survival. She realized if she were to have enough to eat, she would need to get up early every morning in order to fish and cook it.
Trying to meet all the demands made upon herself took a lot of effort, especially roughing it out. Later that evening, Aja played a game with Sophia. It was nice having someone to talk to, even if the girl's ideas of what they wanted out of the relationship varied. Aja only wanted someone to talk to, but Sophia seemed to have other plans.
After the chess game, Aja headed off to use the restroom. She groaned and yawned, stretching; she was so tired! She had finished using the restroom and was headed to bed when she noticed how quickly the world seemed to be spinning. Her vision was turning black as well.
When she awoke the next day, her neck and back ached from having collapsed the night before. At some point, she must have moved to a bench at least, but she was tired and her body ached from the rough night. She desperately needed a bit of fun and social interaction, so she decided to play sea monster with the kids playing on the jungle gym.
She noticed a boy her own age lurking nearby and decided to introduce herself. Unfortunately, he seemed to be a bit of a snob, a class beyond Aja. He seemed to have his head up his... butt!
Aja was stressed to the limit. This boy's prudish behavior was more then she could stand. She was tired, sore, and lonely from the demands life was currently presenting her with. This was the last straw! She snapped the first insult she could think of, something lame about his style of clothes and how the world didn't stand still for prudes like him. She regretted it almost as soon as she had said it. She tried to apologize, but Roderick stormed off.
The next day, Aja was eating her breakfast when Roderick approached her again, implying that her mother was a llama. Aja was taken aback. She didn't have a mother, but she wasn't about to take the insult lying down either. She had a shocking surprise for him.
She smiled sweetly and offered her hand. "I apologize for yesterday. Can we be friends?"
She was pleased when he took the bait. "Now you listen here, you rich, stuck up, snob! It's beyond me why you think you have to harass me when I'm minding my own business, short of some menial need for revenge! It takes someone with a weak mind indeed to come up with as lousy an insult as attacking someone's mother. It's not my mother who's the llama, any way, it's yours! She couldn't even teach you how to properly dress or address others like a normal human being, you rich, stuck up, snob!"
Roderick was startled. He didn't know what to make of Aja. The girl actually had the gall to insult himself and his family?! It was more then he could stand. A scuffle ensued.
Unfortunately, with Aja as the loser and Roderick the victor. She needed to get away from this baboon before she suffered any further embarrassment or discomfort. Her pride felt as bruised as she imagined her body was crushed. She stormed off to the lady's room. Then it would be time for bed. Roderick may have won the fight, but he had not won the battle. Not by a long shot! Not if she had any thing to say about it!
