Taffy

Female
Non-destructive, Neat, Hydrophobic

Hope decided to get a pet for companionship. Who knew? Maybe she could even teach it to hunt. Then she wouldn't be the only one working for the household. The burden could be shared equally. She decided to put a toy box and dog food on her property in hopes she might catch a wild animal. In the mean time, she'd keep an eye open when riding her bike. Maybe she'd find something. She didn't want to go to the adoption agency if she didn't have to. They might expect adult consent. She didn't want them finding out about her living situation!

Hope met a girl at the park, but had only a moment to speak with her before the creepy crawlies started coming out giving her the heeby jeebies. She hoped she'd see her again as she slid quickly onto her bike. At home she saw horses by the lake. Maybe someday she'd own a horse, but today was not that day. She tended her garden and slid into her sleeping bag.

When she woke the next morning, zombies had eaten her garden. She felt so discouraged. All that hard work had gone to waste! She would have to deal with it later. Right now she was sun burned. She needed to get out of the sun for a bit. She decided to visit the library. Hope decided she couldn't wait any more. She needed to stop by the shelter today and hope hard that they didn't ask about her parents.

Hope was so excited to have the new puppy, she forgot the concern about their questions. She was just grateful for a new companion. She hoped they wouldn't ask any questions. It did occur to her that she would have to feed and care for this little girl, but someday, she would be a big help! The next morning, Hope began her relationship with her new friend by playing tug of war.

After play time, Hope did a bit of gardening and headed into town to run a couple of quick errands. She needed to use the restroom and raise some more money. A roof was needed. Now not only for herself, but for Taffy as well. After using the restroom at the gym, Hope went dumpster diving again. There had to be a better way of making money then this! She groaned inwardly. Afterward, she took a shower and headed to the library to try their new painting easel. She'd been wanting to learn how to paint.

Later, Hope headed home and played with Taffy some before hitting the sack.  The next morning, Hope continued building on her relationship with Taffy before heading into town to do some fishing, a reprieve from dumpster diving. Surely there was something, somewhere that would give her her big break. Bring her the money she needed to put a roof over there heads. Wasn't there?

That afternoon, Hope wasn't feeling well. She headed over to the lake near home to warm herself and get herself something to eat. Taffy waked her in the middle of the night with her squeaky toy. She hollered. They really needed their own space. She groaned in consternation.

In an effort to further her education on fishing, Hope took a fishing class after fishing that afternoon. Life was tougher then she could have ever imagined as a runaway. There was no one she could rely on but herself and there was so much she had to do on her own. And now she had someone depending on her. She had to make ends meet. And she would. She wasn't going to go back now. It was late after class, so she decided to head back home.

The next morning, Hope stopped for a flu shot. She had to stay well. She was determined to have a roof over their heads by fall. And it was getting late! Taffy's birthday was coming tomorrow. Had it been so long already? She had to have a shelter over their heads by then. She was determined.
Thankfully it had stopped raining, so she could work hard on it today. She was tired. She hadn't gotten much sleep last night. But this was absolutely necessary for their survival. She needed to check on her garden today too.

After dumpster diving, Hope used the restroom and took a shower at the gym before taking a cat nap on the seat so she could get safely home. She worried about how Taffy was doing. It had started raining again and the weather was only getting colder. And her effort was rewarded. By the end of the day, she had 4 walls, a toilet, a refrigerator and a bed. It wasn't much, but it was hers. Taffy was getting old enough, she'd be able to start working soon. But she'd let her little girl have her birthday first.

The next day, Hope noticed changes right away. She had more time to spend with her puppy, without feeling she needed to get out of the house right away. She was well rested. It may be little, she thought, but it's ours. Home at last!

Hope was grateful that, when the zombies returned on the next full moon, she had shelter for herself and Taffy and a fence around her garden. They were safe!

On Taffy's birthday, Hope went dumpster diving again. She had to have a shower for the house. It was a necessity. With her dog growing, she wasn't sure how they were going to have enough room betweeen the two of them. She had barely gotten the walls up around them, but already it was time to expand. The mere thought gave Hope a headache.

Jackpot! Hope found so much scavenging that she believed she would be able to expand on the cabin. She felt lucky. Oh so lucky! And to think, it was not that long ago she'd had nothing in the foster care system. Always hungry, never enough. Now she was making quite a living for herself and Taffy. She was quite satisfied with herself.

Hope returned home where she could, hopefully, celebrate Taffy's birthday with her and maybe train her to hunt. And get a shower. Hallelujah! A shower in her own home. And just before winter too. Not a whole lot of privacy, but between she and Taffy, that was ok.

Hope and Taffy slept in the next morning before going for a walk. It was their first and both were excited just to spend some time together. They spent the day together, not doing much. Sleeping and socializing. Hope loved Taffy but she discovered, after playing with the dog the next morning, that their relationship couldn't give her every thing she needed. Hope needed a friend.

Editor's note: Sorry about the lack of images. Just me learning how to use my Sims camera. Had to retake some photos in the first chapter, doing the same with this one. But this chapter gets me up to date. I don't expect any further issues. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of my series so far!

Update: (5/6/16) Due to technical difficulties, I had some issues with my computer. I tried to get it back up and running, but we ran into a series of problems and I wasn't able to get back to Sims for some time. Now, I have a computer, but it's low quality. I will be playing and blogging, but I won't be able to do YouTube until I get a gaming computer, hopefully for Black Friday. Sadly, the file containing Hope's story has been lost. I will be making up for it by playing this challenge over. Stay tuned!
